NOTD: Veterans Day

Hello again everyone! I'm sorry it's been so long again. It's been harder than I thought it would getting back into blogging. We're still remodeling the house, and have been busy with other things. That doesn't make up for the lack of blogs. I have the best intentions and not the best follow through it seems. So, what a better way to come back than with a Veterans day NOTD?! I hope you're all excited to see what I've got on my nails for Veterans day. I would like to thank everyone who has fought for my freedom. Without you all I wouldn't even be able to have this blog. If you have any questions feel free to ask. If you try these nails out I'd love to see, share them with me on any of my social media sites. I'd love to hear from you. Like me on Facebook to see more from me. I'm also on Instagram and Pinterest, and Twitter . Check out my other blog if you'd like to see non nail related blogs.
Have a Blessed day,

Products used:
Base coat: Nail-aid, 3 minute artificials
Red Glitter Polish: Finger Paints, Romanticism Ruby
Blue Polish: L.A. Colors, Blue Lagoon
Silver Glitter: Sinful Colors, Queen of Beauty
White Polish: N.Y.C, French White Tip
Top coat: Sally Hansen, Insta-dri
Red, white, and blue acrylic paint
Red, white, and blue 2mm rhinestones
Cosmetic wedge

I used a detail brush and blue acrylic paint to create the star base. Then I went in with the same detail brush and white acrylic paint to make outline the star. Then placed a red 2mm rhinestone in the center of the star.

I used 3 coats of a fine silver glitter to get this effect.

I used a while nail polish as a base. Then went in with red and blue acrylic paint and a detail brush to make the lines. Then filled the center of the design with a fine silver glitter.

I started with a blue nail polish as the base then went in with red and white acrylic paint and a detail brush to get the lines. Then added red, white, and blue 2mm rhinestones

I used a white nail polish as a base. Once that dried I took my red glitter polish and did a gradient look with a cosmetic wedge. Once that dried I went in with the blue nail polish and did a little more gradient with the same cosmetic wedge. I let the dry and then went in with my silver glitter and a detail brush and made the silver glitter stripes. You could also use a silver glitter nail striper.

Once my design had a chance to dry for a few minutes I added a coat of my favorite top coat and this look was finished!

Tutorial: Memorial Day Nails

Happy Memorial day, everyone! While you're out having a cookout, and the family gets together, lets not forget about what today is all about. Today we remember all of the fallen soldiers who laid down their lives so we can be free. Free to do simple things like write a blog about how I paint my nails.  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I'm happy to bring you a tutorial for an easy patriotic design. I was inspired by a pin on Pinterest. Check out the pin that inspired me here. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I'd love to hear from you. If you try this design out, share it with me on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, I'd love to see! Like me on Facebook to see more from me. I'm also on Instagram and Pinterest, and Twitter . Check out my other blog if you'd like to see non nail related blogs.
Have a blessed day,

Step 1: As always start by applying your favorite base coat. Let it dry before moving on.
__________________________________________________

Step 2: Apply 1-2 coats of your favorite blue nail polish on your index finger nail. I used 2 coats. Navy or true blue work best for this design.
__________________________________________________

Step 3: Paint all the rest of your nails red. This red polish only took 1 coat to be opaque.

Step 4: Using a dotting tool, or toothpick dipped in white polish or acrylic paint, make small dots. These dots are the stars. Try to keep the dots in straight lines. That way they look more like the stars on the American flag.
__________________________________________________

Step 5: Using a white nail striper, or a detail brush and white  polish/acrylic paint, create 2 horizontal lines on all red nails except your thumb. You can do more than 2 lines if you like.
__________________________________________________

Step 6: Using the same blue polish you used earlier, and a detail brush, create a small blue square in the bottom left of your thumb. This will be the background for the stars. You could also use a nail striper in a similar blue if you have one.
__________________________________________________

Step 7: Using a white nail striper, or white polish/acrylic paint and a detail brush, start making the lines on the flag. I like to start just under the blue part of the flag.
__________________________________________________

Step 8: Using a dotting tool or a toothpick dipped in white polish/acrylic paint, carefully place your white dots on the blue square. Once again, try and keep them in a straight line.
__________________________________________________

Step 9: After letting your design dry for a few minutes apply your favorite top coat. Then clean up whatever polish may have gotten on your skin with a cotton swab or paint brush dipped in nail polish remover. After that, you're done!
