Sephora by O.P.I Polishes for just $1.80?!

Hello again everyone! I have some exciting news for all of my nail polish lovers. I was recently at my local Big Lots, when I found a great deal on Sephora by O.P.I nail polish. I only picked up 3, but I've heard so much about these 3 polishes I couldn't resist. They had a ton to pick from, and I'm kind of kicking myself for having not gotten more colors. I hope they still have some the next time I'm in there. They have Sephora by O.P.I polishes for just $1.80! I can't get over how great that deal is! They had a huge color range, including lots of their glitter top coats that are raved about. This is just a quick post to tell you about my find. I hope you all run out to your local Big Lots and find some of these gems for yourself!  I'll include some pictures below to show you the colors I picked up. I just picked up 3 of their glitter top coats. 2 of which, are cult favorites and I can't believe I only paid $1.80 for each of them. I'm not going to get into too much detail, because I plan on doing an entire post on these polishes. So, run to Big Lots and take advantage of this great deal while you still can!  I'd love to hear from you. Like me on Facebook to see more from me. I'm also on Instagram and Pinterest, and Twitter . NOTD: Mom's fall gradient glitter nails

Hello again everyone! I have a little bit of a different post today. I decided I would paint my mom's nails tonight(without even talking to her). We are finally almost done with painting the house. So, tonight was perfect for pampering my mom. She has the longest, and strongest nails perfect for nail art!! I'm so jealous! I thought I would do a post on the nails I did for her since I haven't posted in a while(again). I'm hoping to get some fall nail tutorials up soon. Fall is my favorite time of year for nails, so many cute things to do. If you have any questions feel free to ask. If you try these nails out I'd love to see, share them with me on any of my social media sites. I'd love to hear from you. Like me on Facebook to see more from me. I'm also on Instagram and Pinterest, and Twitter . Check out my other blog if you'd like to see non nail related blogs.
Have a Blessed day,

I did a simple Gradient glitter design. I already have a tutorial on gradient glitter nails. Check it out here! I went with fall colors. I love the redish color, it has very fine gold glitter in it. That makes for the perfect base for a gradient glitter design.

Life Update!

Hello again everyone! I know it's been a very long time, and for that I'm very sorry :-(. I have had quite a bit going on, and my nails had to be pushed to the side. This will be an update blog, just to let you all know what's been going on.

First off, For those of you who don't follow me on Instagram, you should. I've been trying to keep everyone on there up to date with what's going on in my life. I post very regularly(more than once a day usually). Those of you who follow me on Instagram already know about this next guy I'm going to talk about. On July 21st we rescued a starving Great Dane. We decided to name him Gabriel, and he has taken up quite a bit of my time recently. If you want to read more on his story check out my mom's blog here. He has quite an extraordinary story, and it makes for an interesting read. You should go check it out if you're interested in Gabe's story. He also has his own Facebook page that you can check out here to see more pictures and get little updates on Gabe from time to time.

Next, We are remodeling our house. So that's also taking up a whole lot of my time. Between the mess from all the moving things around, demolition, and all that kind of stuff I've been being kept quite busy in that aspect as well. We're repainting almost the whole house. So, I haven't been painting my nails much knowing I would just mess them up. Or if I have painted my nails it wasn't anything special enough for a blog post. We only have a couple more rooms to work on and then we'll be done for now.

Also, I've started dog grooming classes! They are just one day a week, and I only have 4 weeks left. So, they really shouldn't interfere with my blog. Tomorrow is our first class where we will be doing a full body cut, I'm nervous.

Here are a few designs I've done but haven't done a blog post on. Sorry for the quality of most of these pictures. Most of them are just from my cell phone. Just thought I would share them. If you would like to see a post or video on how I did any of these designs just comment down below and let me know!

Now, I hope I will be able to post more often again. I miss sharing my nail designs with you all! I miss having the time to work on my nails. I'm really going to try to get back into the swing of things. I have a couple videos filmed that I will work on getting uploaded to YouTube soon. Leave me some comments on what you would like to see me do! If you have any questions feel free to ask. I'd love to hear from you. Like me on Facebook to see more from me. I'm also on Instagram and Pinterest, and Twitter . Check out my other blog if you'd like to see non nail related blogs.
Have a Blessed day,

NOTD: Cute Blue and Pink Leopard Print Nails

Hello again everyone! I'm sorry I haven't been posting as regularly. I will get back on track! Today I have a NOTD(nails of the day) post for you. I will be posting a video tutorial on this design, Wednesday or Friday. I know this design is a little familiar, but I got such positive feedback from it the first time I decided to record a tutorial on how you can create this design for yourself. You can check the original design I'm talking about here. I changed it up some, just so I wasn't posting the same design twice. However, the technique is the same. So, if you want to learn how to create this design, stay tuned! If you have any questions feel free to ask. If you try these nails out I'd love to see, share them with me on any of my social media sites. I'd love to hear from you. Like me on Facebook to see more from me. Video: How I Remove My Nail Polish

Hello again everyone! I have another video for you all today! It's a video on how I remove my nail polish. I know I did a blog post a few months ago on this, but I wanted to show you in a video. Go check out that post if you haven't seen it already, here. I know some people add an extra step of wrapping the tips of your nails in foil while the cotton pieces sit on your nail. The foil keeps the nail polish remover from drying. I haven't ever felt the need to add in that extra step, but you might need to if you don't use pure acetone nail polish remover. This method of removing nail polish doesn't waste all the cotton balls. It works for removing glitter polish as well(we all know how annoying glitter polish is to get off).I've been doing this for a few months now, and I don't have to purchase cotton balls or nail polish remover nearly as often now. I hope you found this video helpful. If you have a different way of removing nail polish tell me about it in the comments below! If you have any questions feel free to ask. I'd love to hear from you. Like me on Facebook to see more from me. I'm also on Instagram and Pinterest, and Twitter . Check out my other blog if you'd like to see non nail related blogs.

Tutorial: Tie-Dye Crackle Nails

Hello everyone! I'm sorry about another late blog. I hope a late blog is better than no blog at all. I'm so excited to bring you guys a video tutorial! I haven't been able to film a video for you all in quite a while. This was the first time I have done a voice over, please excuse it not being the best. I'll get the hang of it soon(hopefully). The nail design I will show you today is very simple. I feel like anyone can do this design. I'm going to a family gathering tomorrow and wanted fun nails. These nails are bright and colorful, perfect for summer. You can use any color combination you want, you don't have to use the same colors I did. I love to do different variations of this design for different holidays. Like red white and blue with a silver crackle over it for the 4th of July. This design is so easy to customize, make it your own! Give this design a try, and let me know how it works! Share your pictures with me on Facebook, instagram, twitter, or Pintrest! I can't wait to see what you all come up with. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I'd love to hear from you. Like me on Facebook to see more from me. How I Grow Long Healthy Nails

Hello again everyone! I'm sorry I've been MIA so much this week. I promise I'm going to be getting back on track. Things have settled down a bit. The good news is, I'll be able to make videos again now! Yay! I can't wait to start getting videos done for you all! I will hopefully have time to get a video done tomorrow.

Until then, let's talk about how you can grow long healthy nails. When you like to do nail art it always helps having long nails. The longer the nail the more canvas to be creative with, right? Plus, who doesn't want long healthy nails?!

I feel like before I can tell you what I do to have healthy nails, first you need understand what makes your nails unhealthy. So, Lets briefly look at what makes nails unhealthy and what kind of things a lot of us struggle with. Dry, brittle, peeling, splitting these are the problems I feel most of us struggle with. So what causes these issues?

Environmental Causes

Prolonged exposure to water, such as hand-washing dishes, is the primary cause of weak, brittle nails. Nail polish removers containing acetone weaken nails, so people who get frequent manicures may be prone to nail problems. Biting the nails or picking at cuticles can introduce bacteria, which weaken the nail bed and cause brittle nails, the Mayo Clinic says.

Topical Treatments

The Mayo Clinic's adult health website recommends applying topical nail hardening products, such as nail polish containing nylon fibers. Choose a product that does not contain toluene or formaldehyde; these ingredients are irritants and may exacerbate nail problems. Hand and nail moisturizers containing alpha hydroxy acid or lanolin can help control breakage, especially if you apply it at night before bed and sleep in cotton gloves to prevent moisture from evaporating.

What can we do to keep our nails healthy?

  1. Wear gloves while you wash dishes, or have your hand in water for any reason.
  2. Use Non-acetone nail polish remover(I don't follow this rule, tsk tsk)
  3. Don't pick at your cuticles, or bite your nails.(I'm bad at picking at my cuticles, shame on me)
  4. Use base coats before applying nail polish, but chose one that  does not contain toluene or formaldehyde(I really need to work on this one)
  5. Moisturize and massage your nails/nail bed before going to bed.
  6. Drink lots of water!
  7. Eat foods that that are high in calcium, iron, potassium and the vitamin B complex. These foods include dairy products, nuts, eggs, green leafy vegetables, bananas and fish.

My favorite way to keep my nails healthy is every day, (sometimes more than once a day) I massage either coconut or almond oil into my nail bed. This can help promote nail growth quickly by improving blood flow to the area. Use your fingertips to massage both the cuticle and nail bed for at least two minutes. I know some people who have had great results taking the supplement Biotin. I've personally never tried it, but I would love to give it a shot. Maybe in the future I can try biotin and do a review for you all. Right now my nails aren't particularly healthy, but that's because I haven't been following a lot of these tips recently. However, When I do all of these things my nails are wonderful, healthy, long, and very strong. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I'd love to hear from you. Like me on Facebook to see more from me. I'm also on Instagram and Pinterest, and Twitter . Check out my other blog if you'd like to see non nail related blogs.

Mint and White Polka Dot Nail Tutorial

Hello again, everyone!  Sorry I didn't post anything for a couple days. Today's post is another tutorial! I was planning on doing a video for this one but my camera is still not working. I will still make a video for it later, but hope you're all happy with this for now. This design is so simple, I think anyone can do it. If you have trouble don't give up, just keep trying. So, Let's get started!

If you want to see how I created this look, just keep reading!

          Products used:
Base coat: Nail-aid, 3 minute artificals
Mint green: Rimmel 60 seconds, Mintilicious
White: Sinful Colors, Snow Me White
Silver Glitter: Art Deco, Silver Glitter
Top coat: Sally Hansen, Insta Dry

Step 1: Start by applying your favorite base coat to all of your nails. Always remember to go along the free edge of your nails to help prevent chipping. The free edge is the very tip of your nails. Do this  with every coat of nail polish you apply for best results.

Step 2: Choose which nails you want to be your accent nails, and leave them bare. Paint the tips of your non-accent nails in the color of your choice. I chose a mint green. 1-2 coats should be all you need. We're going to call this color, "color 1", later on in this tutorial.

Step 3: With the second color of your choice,(I chose white) paint 1-2 coats on your accent nails. Allow your nails to dry well before moving onto the next step. We're going to call this color, "color 2" later on in this tutorial.

Step 4: Using a toothpick or dotting tool, dipped in color 2, place dots all over the tips of your non-accent nails.

__________________________________________________

Step 5 and 6: Using a toothpick or dotting tool dipped in color 1, start to fill in the whole accent nail with small dots. I find dotting in diagonal lines gives the best results for this. Try and keep the dots about them same size for best results.

__________________________________________________

Step 7 and 8: Just follow the last 2 steps. Using a dotting tool or toothpick dipped in color number 1, make small dots in diagonal lines. Continue until the whole nail is full of dots.

__________________________________________________

Step 9: Using a striper make a small line at the bottom of the tips. This just gives a more finished look. It also helps to hide if you didn't have perfectly straight tips. I used a silver glitter striper. You can skip this step, or use any color you want.

Step 10: After giving your dots a few minutes to dry, apply your favorite top coat to seal in your design.

__________________________________________________

If you want, use a paint brush, or cotton bud dipped in nail polish remover clean up any polish that you may have gotten on your skin. Apply your favorite cuticle oil over the whole nail and you're all done!
