Hello again everyone! I hope you're having a good morning so far. I've got an interesting post for you this fine Wednesday morning. I received the Spring Fever VoxBox from Influenster last Friday. If you would like to see what all I received and get more information on Influenster , then check out my blog post on it here. Inside my Spring Fever VoxBox, I received a set of imPress Broadway Nails.  I got immediately excited, I love trying new things. I've never tried imPress Broadway Nails before. I've heard great things about this product, so I couldn't wait to try them out. As you all know, I love to do my own nail art, but it would be nice to be able to just stick some nails on and not have to worry about it from time to time. These seemed like just the kind of thing I might like. If you want to see how imPress Broadway Nails worked out for me, keep reading.

Below is what their profile on Inlfuenster has to say.

They make some pretty big claims,"revolutionary way to apply polish!", "lasts up to a week!", "you can get a salon-perfect manicure in seconds ". I remember press on nails from when I was a kid. So, I'm curious what makes these different.

This is the design I got. imPress Broadway Nails, Over the Moon. It was a nice marbled design. Honestly, it wasn't my favorite design. Their nails retail for  $5.99 for colors and $7.99 for patterns.

The packaging was really cute, and functional. Unlike the boxes most fake nails come in.

The black lid comes off, and the package opens up to house all of the nails. This made it easy too keep up with all of the extra nails.

Always start with clean dry nails, free of any nail polish. Then, lay the nail over your natural nails to find what size works for each nail. Align the tabbed edge  with your cuticle.

After finding what all sizes you need lay your nails out. This makes it easier when you're applying them. This way you don't have to dig around for each nail. I actually had to trim my natural nails for this. My nails were already short for me, and I still had to trim them. I wasn't happy about that. Who wants to fake nails shorter than their natural nails? I wish the nails were labeled with what size they are. That would have helped when it came to sorting them.

This is what the glue looks like. It's very thick, and makes the nails sit way above your natural nail. This lead to me getting my long hair stuck between the imPRESS nails and my natural nails.

Above is a closeup of how the nails look once applied. They were very easy to apply. Just peel, align with your cuticle, and press firmly. I wasn't too crazy about how they looked. They look very thick, and a little too square for my liking. I prefer the more rounded look. I also feel like they were all a little too wide for my nails. It took less than 5 minutes to apply all 10 nails, and that was nice.

I'm not sure if this is a common problem, but none of the
nails actually fit my natural nails. There were these awkward gaps on almost every nail. Above are pictures of 2 different nails with the gaps. From afar you can't really tell, you have to be looking closely to notice. As somewhat of a perfectionist, this bothered me. If I'm going to wear fake nails, I don't want it to be so obvious that I'm wearing fake nails. I'm not sure how they can be too wide, and have these gaps all at once, but they were.

Overall, I was very disappointed. I had high hopes for this product after I've seen so many people hype it up. It just didn't work out for me. I found the nails to be so wide that they hurt my nails. Then there was the fact I had to trim my natural nails to put them on. They claim these last up to 1 week, mine lasted less then 24 hours. I put them on just before dinner, around 5 pm, I wasn't doing any hard work, or anything out of the normal. Just day to day behavior. They popped off then I got dressed for bed,  again when I washed dishes, then again when I dug through my purse. I used the left over nails to fill back in before I went to bed, and woke up with over half the nails off.

Pros:
  • Cute packaging
  •  Great designs(even though I didn't care for this design I've seen some great ones)
  • High shine
  • Easy to apply
  • Fast
Cons:
  • Ill fitting
  • Awkward gaps
  • Poor lasting power
  • Too short
  • A little pricey
  • Too thick

I wish these had worked out better for me. I would love to try this product again, maybe I got a bum batch. However, With poor lasting power, and ill fitting sizes I'm giving it a 2 out of 5 stars. I could have dealt with the gaps, ill fitting sizes, thickness, and short length, but if they don't stay on. I won't spend my money on these. It seems I'll be sticking to my natural nails. I wish I had more positive things to say about this product. I will always give you my honest opinion, even when the product doesn't work out for me. Keep in mind, just because this product didn't work for me, doesn't mean it won't work for you. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I'd love to hear from you.
